Record Busy Saturday ...

(Students and Spectators waiting to jump)
This past Saturday was AST's busiest day ever. It was a perfect day to jump and plenty of tandems and fun jumpers came out to take advantage of the sun and warm weather. We flew 21 full loads over the course of the day! Katie Hawkins made the trip up from Cedartown, and she, Allen, Frank and Chuck helped 11 AFF students complete jumps towards their certification. Shaun Walters is back from England and he finally got the chance to put his new tandem rating to work. By the end of the day, he'd done close to ten tandems and loved every minute of it! After sunset everybody stuck around for a load of night jumps. Be sure to ask Mike Paiser about his impromptu "demo" next time you see him! Even though the forecast for Sunday looked less than promising, we were able to get a couple of loads up before the wind and clouds rolled in! I think everybody was secretly thankful for a break after Saturday's long day of jumping!
Don't Forget...

(Shaun Walters and student, Matt Barnard)

(Josh Holer and Kala)
AST will be open this Thursday (April 9) from 2pm until sunset, and Friday (April 10) from noon until sunset. We'll have 2 AFF instructors out on Friday afternoon to give students a chance to get a few levels knocked out before the weekend gets started! Come out and make a few jumps after work... or better yet, just call in sick and spend the whole afternoon with us. Brooklyn and Amy have already decided to skip school.... so obviously, it's the cool thing to do!
This week kicks off our spring schedule... from here on out, we'll be open every Friday starting at noon!
Upcoming events and other news...

(Codie Aljets sporting his version of the Paiser 'stache)
The Mike Paiser Space Laser Appreciation Boogie (April 24-26) is shaping up to be just as epic as the Cat Aids Boogie. It's fast approaching, so start growing out your mustaches, dying your hair blonde and sewing your own jumpsuits... the look-a-like competition is going to be fierce! Mike and Susie are bringing out all their old friends and family to help celebrate their wedding, so it's sure to be an entertaining event. Plus, there are rumors that Jose might decide to do a few skydives from altitude....
Next Saturday, April 18, celebrate Josh Holer and Deborah Young's birthdays with the dropzone. Josh and Aggie have invited everyone over to their home after jumping to enjoy a cookout and drinks. Last time the Holers invited the dropzone over, we ended up watching Cutaway and Break Point which might explain some of Robert Jankowski's crazy skydiving ideas!

Finally, congratulations to Codie Aljets and Richard McMurray who did their first night jumps on Saturday.... don't think we're going to forget the beer you owe us!
See you guys in a couple of days!
Blue skies,
AST
